Cumbrian flood claims top £200m

The cost of damage caused by last November’s flooding in Cumbria has topped £200 million. According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), its members have handled 36,000 flood and storm damage claims totalling an estimate £206 million, with 60% of the sum relating to business damage. Interim payments made by insurers to homeowners and firms have ranged from £250 to £400,000, and alternative temporary accommodation has been necessary for 470 policyholders whose flood-damaged properties were left uninhabitable until repairs were carried out.     The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
